The heart for this journal was born long before we were. Many generations of women in our family have passed down a fierce love for homemaking, from our great-grandmothers, to our grandmothers, to our mother, who also instilled in her two daughters a love for beautification. Whether it’s home and antique preservation, cultivating intentional and beautiful details, or throwing an elaborate yet creative party on a budget, we are all about it.
Since 2022, we sisters have talked heavily on having an establishment for all our endeavors — gatherings, antique sales, and journal entries on all the old-fashioned details we’re finding lovely. It’s 2026, and we’ve decided that anything is worth trying if it stays present on two minds for that long! May as well give it a go.
We just love to throw a good themed party, go on a thorough antique hunt, work on old-fashioned artworks, and cherish life in the slow lane. Being mothers ourselves now, we have tasted for ourselves that life is all too fleeting, and there is a great force at work fighting to drain the joy out of our lives. This journal is our fight against that.
We are believers in Jesus Christ. Philippians 4:8 ESV reads, “Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.”
We are making intentional, deliberate choices to slow down, savor life, make it beautiful and creative, and keep the heart of our Savior at the center of it all.
God created the earth to be full of wonder and exciting beauty. His only Son was a carpenter, taking that creation and turning it into art and function. We believe we are participating in worship by celebrating His creation by highlighting the beauty found within our lives.
May this journal be of encouragement to you, like a dancing ray of summer light spilling onto the soft, bright linens of your bed — dried in the sunshine and carrying the fragrance of fresh air — as music plays softly and your heart stills. Come and stay awhile.
